All students are required to keep an art journal/ sketchbook.

Each class will have a place to store these books. When you have an outside drawing assignment, you may do it on a separate page, then bring it to school and put it into your
journal/ sketchbook.

Since you will use this for both writing and drawing, you may want to get a folder with fasteners along one edge. That way, you can insert whatever paper you want.

Your journal will be graded, and it will also be used to plan your art projects, do practice drawing, and write reflections. All your rubrics and class hand outs will be kept in your journal sketchbook.

Keep it from year to year, and you will have a record of your ideas, your work, and your growth in art.

Each student will make a portfolio, in which to keep two
dimensional art. All art is to be taken home at the end of the course, to be shared with parents. Never throw away your art. Think of your work as a record of your journey.

All students will have the opportunity to keep a digital
portfolio, which may be saved to disk.
