Art teachers frequently receive information about art show opportunities for students. Since our time in elective classes is limited, and we must address our curriculum requirements, we offer information here. Students who choose to participate in these exhibit opportunities may create the work at home. All FOMS student who would like to meet with me about entering work in the four exhibits below, are invited to come to the ART room after school, September 27. You can spend the time doing visual brainstorming, planning your design, and selecting materials.

About contests and judging....
Artists, please understand that  in any art  contest, the winning piece is selected by  judges who bring their own likes, dislikes, opinions, and  personal experiences to the selection process.

Your work may have great merit in many areas; design quality, emotional content, expression and communication, but may simply not appeal to a particular judge.

Please don't ever be discouraged if you enter work in a competition and it isn't selected.  Different judges like different
art work.   In art, it is never about being better than someone else, it is about  being better than you were before.  Keep striving.   Never give up on your work or yourself!

Current art exhibit information will be posted on the bulletin board outside the art studio (D 124) If you need materials or extra help, stay for Open Art Studio, after school on Tuesdays.
